What is the church? A place of Love and Kindness

At this summit 196 countries will meet to sign a new climate change agreement. What does climate change mean to us as a people of faith? AFFIRMATION OF FAITH (Dorothy McRae McMahon)

The people of God have a human face, we weep, we wait in hope. We lift our eyes, and stub our toes, we love and struggle, we fail, we stand and always we stand on trembling ground. But God is God and Jesus is the Christ, and the Spirit will lift up our feet.

 

God is in the centre, God is at our endings. Nothing lies beyond the love of God in Christ.

 

The children now join us.

 

THE INVITATION: Jesus Christ invites each one of you to this family meal. In the bread and wine, the sign of Christ’s presence with us, we are united in love with God through Jesus Christ and with one another.

 

THE ACCEPTANCE:

I come to the table in response to the invitation of Jesus Christ, who came among us and was human like us. I come knowing that I am loved by God. I come seeking healing and wholeness through Jesus Christ who gave the gift of life for us all.
